Education
Most of us are increasingly losing contact with nature. We live in highly developed settings with relatively few natural elements or views; others have access to some forms of nature but spend much of their time indoors. Increasing evidence suggests that the natural world may be a powerful resource for both learning and development. Evidence is mounting that nature-based learning (NBL) enhances children’s educational and developmental outcomes. At Serenity Ridge Nature Preserve and Arboretum we are working with other environmental Nonprofits to enhance our property, taking it back to its natural habitat to allow the public to interact with nature and learn more about the Piedmont Plateau.
It is our intent to develop hands-on and interactive activities for the family to enjoy. In this section we will give you information about taking part in interactive activities with organizations we work with, as well as giving you information regarding the natural world around you. Watch this section grow!
